About the Role
You'll own major parts of our backend API platform (Laravel) and help shape its next generation — building scalable, secure, enterprise-grade systems, reaching into the Vue 3 frontend when the work demands it. The platform runs as a managed cloud service (AWS, GCP), in our customers' own cloud, or fully on-premise. This is a high-ownership role at the core of the product.
Responsibilities
Own and extend our Laravel API platform: multi-tenant, org-scoped endpoints serving the product and its developer integrations.
Design and ship features end-to-end — backend-first, but touching the Vue 3 / TypeScript frontend where needed.
Improve the reliability, performance, and test coverage of the core platform.
Integrate with our data-processing and real-time layers.
Collaborate closely with product and engineering on specs and sequencing.
Requirements
Strong backend experience with PHP / Laravel (or comparable modern framework, with willingness to go deep on Laravel).
Solid PostgreSQL; comfortable with schema design and query performance (PostGIS a plus).
Experience designing and versioning REST APIs for production multi-tenant systems.
Track record building scalable, secure systems for enterprise customers.
Comfortable in a TypeScript frontend codebase (Vue 3 ideal, React/other acceptable).
Pragmatic, ships, and writes maintainable code; thrives with high autonomy in a small team.
Nice to have
Experience with event-driven architecture, event sourcing, and CQRS.
Experience with geospatial data, point clouds, or large-file processing pipelines.
Familiarity with message queues, Redis, and AWS; exposure to self-serve / usage-metered SaaS billing.
